Here you have The Spectral Wolf, one of the characters and part of my contribution to this tale. It was designed for a photo-performance in our Alegria’s Bay (ALEGRIA Studio’s virtual parcel) having in mind the mesh land impact, the parcel prim limitation and lag impact, all them limitations of Second Life virtual world.

Designed, modeled, textured and set in wold by myself using Blender, ZBrush, Photoshop and Second Life’s Editor.

Filmed in Alegria’s Bay, Pegasoi sim, Second Life.

[DREAM] LOVE IS A BATTLEFIELD – AVATAR RUSTED HEART

Avatar Rusted Heart

Avatar “Rusted Heart” (by Noke Yuitza; photocredit Alpha Auer)

This avatar is the Rusted Heart, one of the characters in “Love is a Battlefield”, my surreal cyberpunk art installation for The Museo del Metaverso (in Craft Virtual World). These damaged hearts in battle are taken by Drones Collectors under the watch of the Great Collector. But, why is it collecting rusted hearts?

The Rusted Heart Avatar is an exclusive item for Fantasy Fair 2015 that you only will be able to get in the Auction. You can wear it as avatar or use it as decoration for your place. 100% of the sale of this item will be donated to the American Cancer Society.

Watch a preview of Love is a Battlefield from min. 3:07 to 3:34:

Why I Relay?

My grandma passed away at the beginning of this year due lung cancer. She had it for years, but It was too late when doctors visit her. She was not a smoker, as her sister, that also died due lung cancer a year before. She was born into difficult times and suffer the Spanish civil war. She was of the type of never complain due pain. And she was my family pillar.

I was raised by her. I came to life with her 2 years ago, when we knew she had cancer. We born same day, same month, but in a different era.

In my first incursions with science communication using Second Life, I had the pleasure to organize some debates and lectures about cancer, from a research and social point of view. I’ve never forget the words of the patient that came to talk about her experience, about how is to live with cancer and about the importance for patients to be treated with normality.

One never think how important is until it touch one… but I believe in people’s power to change things and turn them into wonders. Just taking action. We are not as alone as we think 😉

I guess this is why I relay.

I want “to see an end to the heartache this devastating disease cause”, as Duchess Flux says.

Hugs

Drones capturing rusted hearts in LOVE IS A BATTLEFIELD

Drones capturing rusted hearts in LOVE IS A BATTLEFIELD

If you have a rusted heart, be careful with the drone collectors ;)…

Some days ago the MdM (Museo del Metaverso) reopened in Craft with some cool artists coming from Second Life and Hypergrid. You can visit its website to see some photos and get the Land Marks-taxi and I recommend to you to click in”Artists” in the main menu cause the list its the huge enough to don’t display the entire submenu of artists in all screens.

Mine is the following one: Love is a Battlefield. In my line of dreaming the future with some surreal cyberpunk style, I’ve created some drones collecting rusted hearts. It’s inside my DREAM saga, as you will recognize by one of its characters. There are 3: the rusted hearts, the drone collectors and the great collector. You can turn yourself in one of the characters, the rusted heart, and be part of the installation by getting the avatar as gift at the shop of the MdM.

Some extra data: my avatar during the MdM opening was the drone collector carrying a heart. The drone is my ALEGRIA Dream Mask that you saw in La Metallique Fair, The Sea of Cubic Dreams during the performances and these days in ArtFest’15 in Second Life.

Enjoy 😉

Burned Tree, making off stage set for Art in Hats music performance

Image

Burned Tree, by Noke (Stage set for Art in Hats, Attrezzo)

“Burned Tree”, part of my stage set for Art in Hats closing party.
Model and texture by myself.
Apps used: ZBrush, Sculptris, Blender, Photoshop, Second Life.
Rendered in Blender Internal and Sculptris.

Nine woods in the cauldron go, burn them fast and burn them slow.
Birch into the fire goes, to represent what the Lady knows.
Oak gives the forest might, in the fire brings the God’s insight.
Rowan is the tree of power, causing life and magic to flower.
Willows at the waterside stand, to aid the journey to the Summerland.
Hawthorn is burned to purify, and draw faery to your eye.
Hazel, the tree of wisdom and learning, adds its strength to the bright fire burning.
White are the flowers of the apple tree, that brings us the fruits of fertility.
Grapes that grow upon the vine, giving us both joy and wine.
Fir does mark the evergreen, to represent immortality unseen.
Elder is the Lady’s tree, burn it not, or cursed you’ll be.

The Poem of the Nine Woods, anonymous author, celtic poem.

This burned tree was part of my set for the electronic music performance by Morlita Quan with motive of the closing party of Art in Hats challenge, where over  a hundred people came to celebrate. Curated by Quan Lavender in Second Life, this project was a call to mix fashion and art by diverse CG artists and fashion designers. You can see a part of this performance in the following video by Wizardoz Chrome.

FLYER TEARS IN RAIN, TIME TO DIE live music performance by Morlita Quan

TIME TO DIE live music performance by Morlita Quan to put the end to Tears in Rain cyberart installation in LEA10.

I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched c-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like… tears in rain. Time to die.

Blade Runner.

This is not the end of Bruna Husky, the detective female replicant of Rosa Montero‘s Tears in Rain, but yes of its installation in LEA10, that already resisted its expiration day for twice and that was open to public last days of december’12. Let’s say “hasta la vista” to Tears in Rain installation with the Flying Electronica live music of DJ Morlita Quan and with a tribute to one of the most popular dialogs of the history of cinema: Blade Runner’s Tears in Rain soliloquy.

Thanks again to all people that did possible this installation and to visitors. Enjoy!

Time: Sunday 04/14/2013 at 01.30 pm SLT (21.30h UCT)

“Tir Na Nog” multimedia and CG art installation opens its portal gate in Galerie Artemis next tuesday

Tir Na Nog intivation to opening in Artemis

“You are heartly invited to the opening of the exhibition Morlita Quan and Noke Yuitza at the Artemis Gallery”, Duna Gant, CEO of Galerie Artemis.

Thunders and lightnings cross the dark gray sky when the storm rises the ship and breaks it as a nut. Men scream while waves eats them, in a blue hell of salt and water. But sometimes, if the Gods are pleased, the wild sea embrace the castaway in a peaceful hug to deep bottom of its bowels, where the cave is. Only the God of Water, Niska “The Mermaid”, can judge if the soul of a human being is worthy to cross the cave and find the portal gate to Tir Na Nog, the sacred land beyond the sea where the Gods of the Elements live…

Aloha castaway, I’m Niamh, the cyclop fish, “The Storyteller”. If your steps had drive you in front of me, it means that you are blessed by Niska and you can cross this gate. But be ready, cause my scales are telling me that soon something terrible is going to happen… And my scales never lie…

Tir Na Nog, Act I, introduction scene, Niamh “The Storyteller”, by Morlita Quan and Noke Yuitza.

Tir Na Nog (Act I, introduction scene) in Artemis Gallery

It’s a pleasure for Morlita and myself to invite you to come to the opening of Tir Na Nog (Act I, introduction scene) next tuesday at Artemis Gallery in Second Life. This installation in Artemis is the introduction chapter to our under construction CG cyberartistic project in LEA10. In Artemis Gallery we have the opportunity to show what Tir Na Nog will be and share it with you. We have transmuted the gallery into a cave under the sea. The structure of the gallery remains, but now is covered with some sea cyber-fauna and flora.

The chapter talks about the cave as a dimensions crossing, from our land to a magic island where the Gods of the Elements balance our world. In this part of the story the visitor, muted into the character of a castaway, needs to follow the path through the cave and introduce itself to Niamh to get Niska’s blessing to cross the gate.

Day: 16/ 04/ 2013
Time: 22.00h UCT (2.00 pm Second Life time, 23.00h Spain)
Location: Galerie Artemis in Second Life

What’s Tir Na Nog cyberart installation?

Tir Na Nog will be a surrealistic New Media Art installation based on ancient celtic culture, myths and history, mixed in a cyber renaissance concept, where we’ll create a new legend inspired in an impossible romance between the ethereal Dyu and the magic Niska.

It’s an immersive multimedia and CG art installation experience rendered in real-time using the 3D virtual world environment of Second Life, thanks to a grant for virtual land for media artists from Linden Endowment for the Arts (LEA) non-profits.

Some recommendations to follow to visit Tir Na Nog in Artemis

You need an avatar in Second Life to visit this installation in real-time. You can download Second Life here.

This installation uses ambient music and sounds, so please turn “sounds sim” and set “environment settings” in “Midnight”.

The tour is unidirectional. If you follow the arrows you will find the different levels:

  1. The tunnel
  2. The enter to the cave (where you can take the free gift)
  3. The octopus. Go up the stairs to the octopus level and take the teleport on the octopus eye.
  4. Niamh, the “Storyteller”. The goal: Touch the eye of the cyclops fish to speak with him. There are also 4 chairs situated around the “Storyteller” to wait to listen Niamh’s introduction. If you want to go back to the enter, just take the “Multi Teleport” located near the fish

We would like to thank Duna Gant for invite to us to do this part of our project in Artemis, and we hope you enjoy!

Please, subscribe to our blog in Blogger to follow Tir Na Nog project.

“Tears in Rain”, Singularity Tribe electronic music podcast mixed by ALEXI

“Peace, love, unity…”

When Dj Alexi Ayres ask me if I would like to do the cover art for the last Singularity Tribe podcast using my Tears in Rain graphics, I didn’t know how much this immersive electronica session, inspired in cyberpunk culture, fits and follows the evolution of the original story, recreating a cyberlandscape that born and dies at the rhythm of dropping words as “replicant”, “transhumanism”, “technohuman”, “cyber-renaissance”, … words that I’ve try to reflect in this cover art using Bruna Husky’s Memory Fragment 16 “The Beauty” (from Rosa Montero‘s book Tears in Rain, which title is a tribute to Blade Runner film).

Enjoy it!

Tears In Rain – I (Photo credit: Caitlin Tobias)

“Open it. It’s a gift”…

With just this words in a message, Ketk Petrov send me an amazing gift, very emotive, from this machinographer to my Tears Rain cyberart installation. When I opened the youtube link that Kekt send me, I didn’t expect to see a machinima that went straight ahead, like an arrow, to my heart, with a very sensitive musical touch suggestion by DJ, artist and friend Morlita Quan (I love Björk!!).

To the ones that don’t know yet about this project, that started nearly a year ago and now it’s close to its “time to die” day, my Tears in Rain is directly inspired in Rosa Montero’s cyberpunk book Tears in Rain, that is at the same time a tribute to good sci-fi gender and it takes the name from one of the most famous dialogs of cinema history: Rutger Hauer’s final dialog in Blade Ranner.

Mahalo!!! 😉

Filmed in Tears in Rain (LEA10), during Morlita Quan’s Flying Electronic music performance in “The Beauty” Stage, and Los Falsos (the MKAC), both inside Tears in Rain cyberart installation project in Second Life.
