“Tears in Rain”, Singularity Tribe electronic music podcast mixed by ALEXI

“Peace, love, unity…”

When Dj Alexi Ayres ask me if I would like to do the cover art for the last Singularity Tribe podcast using my Tears in Rain graphics, I didn’t know how much this immersive electronica session, inspired in cyberpunk culture, fits and follows the evolution of the original story, recreating a cyberlandscape that born and dies at the rhythm of dropping words as “replicant”, “transhumanism”, “technohuman”, “cyber-renaissance”, … words that I’ve try to reflect in this cover art using Bruna Husky’s Memory Fragment 16 “The Beauty” (from Rosa Montero‘s book Tears in Rain, which title is a tribute to Blade Runner film).

Enjoy it!

Tears in Rain in the eyes of Ketk Petrov, “00 years, 00 months and 02 days”

“Open it. It’s a gift”…

With just this words in a message, Ketk Petrov send me an amazing gift, very emotive, from this machinographer to my Tears Rain cyberart installation. When I opened the youtube link that Kekt send me, I didn’t expect to see a machinima that went straight ahead, like an arrow, to my heart, with a very sensitive musical touch suggestion by DJ, artist and friend Morlita Quan (I love Björk!!).

To the ones that don’t know yet about this project, that started nearly a year ago and now it’s close to its “time to die” day, my Tears in Rain is directly inspired in Rosa Montero’s cyberpunk book Tears in Rain, that is at the same time a tribute to good sci-fi gender and it takes the name from one of the most famous dialogs of cinema history: Rutger Hauer’s final dialog in Blade Ranner.

Mahalo!!! 😉

Machinima: Lagrimas en la lluvia (Tears in Rain) – Rosa Montero – Noke Yuitza

Directed and edited by Ketk Petrov.

Filmed in Tears in Rain (LEA10), during Morlita Quan’s Flying Electronic music performance in “The Beauty” Stage, and Los Falsos (the MKAC), both inside Tears in Rain cyberart installation project in Second Life.

One can easy get lost in a huge intervention and project as is Tears in Rain, so this note is a short cut to all the scenes included in this surreal cyberpunk intervention, inspired in Rosa Montero’s book Tears in Rain.

Enjoy the adventure!

Alien Humanity artwork for the UWA Centenary 3D Art challenge it’s the conclusion part of a total of three immersive interventions concerned to our future evolution and the evolution of AIs (Artificial Intelligences) together with Future Communities (SL9B), the introduction part, and Lacrime nella Pioggia (Brera Accademy).

Inside an in-vitro conception between virtual and organic life mix, held by the trinity concept (organic, virtual and spiritual), Future Communities talks about the birth of a new community of transgenic human beings as a result of that one: the technohumans or replicants. Lacrime nella Pioggia follows, into one of those possible futures, the inner evolution and awakening of Bruna Husky, a replicant, in Madrid city on 2109. And Alien Humanity, inspired in a certain way in Mariko Mori‘s intervention Oneness, is concerned about what comes next, maybe at the end, that also can be a new bright beginning, closing the three parts with other in-vitro conception using in it an experiment based on empathy and mirror neurons to recreate in visitors a sense of calm and happiness.

All inspired by the book Tears in the Rain, by Rosa Montero, the anime Ghost in the Shell and Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner film.
