Tears in Rain in the eyes of Ketk Petrov, “00 years, 00 months and 02 days”

“Open it. It’s a gift”…

With just this words in a message, Ketk Petrov send me an amazing gift, very emotive, from this machinographer to my Tears Rain cyberart installation. When I opened the youtube link that Kekt send me, I didn’t expect to see a machinima that went straight ahead, like an arrow, to my heart, with a very sensitive musical touch suggestion by DJ, artist and friend Morlita Quan (I love Björk!!).

To the ones that don’t know yet about this project, that started nearly a year ago and now it’s close to its “time to die” day, my Tears in Rain is directly inspired in Rosa Montero’s cyberpunk book Tears in Rain, that is at the same time a tribute to good sci-fi gender and it takes the name from one of the most famous dialogs of cinema history: Rutger Hauer’s final dialog in Blade Ranner.

Mahalo!!! 😉

Directed and edited by Ketk Petrov.

Filmed in Tears in Rain (LEA10), during Morlita Quan’s Flying Electronic music performance in “The Beauty” Stage, and Los Falsos (the MKAC), both inside Tears in Rain cyberart installation project in Second Life.

IMMERSIVE WOR(L)DS – VIDEO PART 2: lecture and artists

Featured

This is the second video about the opening of IMMERSIVE WOR(L)DS, event organized in Second Life by the groups Libriamo Tutti and Arte Libera and the Brera Academy (Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera, Milan, Italy), where we can see and hear some bits of the books that inspired our exhibits (artists exhibits) for the project read vividly during the visit by:

  • ALEXANDRA SHEPHERD, passage of “Narciso e Boccadoro” (Hermann Hesse) for “L’OPPOSTO E IL SUO COMPLETAMENTO”, by Giovanna Cerise.
  • HELENITA ARRIAGA, passage of “Il pozzo e il pendolo” (Edgar A. Poe) for “IL POZZO E IL PENDOLO”, by Nessuno Myoo.
  • SIMBA SCHUMANN, passage of “Lacrime nella pioggia” (Rosa Montero) for “LACRIME NELLA PIOGGIA”, by Noke Yuitza.

Description of the event

Words and Worlds are the themes that form the backdrop of the event that Libriamo Tutti and the Brera Academy, in collaboration with IF2012 Imagine the Future, organized Saturday, June 30, at 10:30 am, at the Napoleonico hall of the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera.

WORDS: because we asked some digital artists to create works of art, inspired by literary works.

WORLDS: because, to admire the works of art, we have put in connecting virtual worlds and physical worlds, by talking avatars who populated the virtual headquarters of the Academy of Brera in Second Life, with lovers of art and literature that have instead met in the physical location of the Academy.

A partnership between literary art and figurative art that has found its meeting point in the use of new technologies offered by the Internet, to stimulate sharing and interaction, eliminating the gap between artists, readers and viewers.

During the meeting, the reading of texts and stories has been integrated with the artistic exploration and discovery, the images are intertwined canceling spaces, dialogue developed between concrete spaces and web platforms.

A spyVspy Aeon Production for MachinimUWA II

Based on the AI (artificial intelligence) concept, this story AIMS To give an idea of the viewer That world in BOTH IT Complexity in the most emotional, maybe That touches us most. What if we create Machines That Could reach the artificial intelligence and achievement of Understand emotions, how the machine would interpret Those emotions? Is This Our concern is the fear of what we create Will replace us at all? I do not know the answer, I will leave each one make your questions and conclusions.

One robot that denies it own origins, might be confusing for our understanding trying to imagine how a Machine would deal with feelings 🙂

I leave you with my last Machinima work made to enter the MachinimUWA II: Art of the Artists. A study done by 85% after effects surreal putting funds, giving the viewer a vision of another universe (maybe SL).
