[DREAM] LOVE IS A BATTLEFIELD – AVATAR RUSTED HEART

Avatar Rusted Heart

Avatar “Rusted Heart” (by Noke Yuitza; photocredit Alpha Auer)

This avatar is the Rusted Heart, one of the characters in “Love is a Battlefield”, my surreal cyberpunk art installation for The Museo del Metaverso (in Craft Virtual World). These damaged hearts in battle are taken by Drones Collectors under the watch of the Great Collector. But, why is it collecting rusted hearts?

The Rusted Heart Avatar is an exclusive item for Fantasy Fair 2015 that you only will be able to get in the Auction. You can wear it as avatar or use it as decoration for your place. 100% of the sale of this item will be donated to the American Cancer Society.

Watch a preview of Love is a Battlefield from min. 3:07 to 3:34:

Why I Relay?

My grandma passed away at the beginning of this year due lung cancer. She had it for years, but It was too late when doctors visit her. She was not a smoker, as her sister, that also died due lung cancer a year before. She was born into difficult times and suffer the Spanish civil war. She was of the type of never complain due pain. And she was my family pillar.

I was raised by her. I came to life with her 2 years ago, when we knew she had cancer. We born same day, same month, but in a different era.

In my first incursions with science communication using Second Life, I had the pleasure to organize some debates and lectures about cancer, from a research and social point of view. I’ve never forget the words of the patient that came to talk about her experience, about how is to live with cancer and about the importance for patients to be treated with normality.

One never think how important is until it touch one… but I believe in people’s power to change things and turn them into wonders. Just taking action. We are not as alone as we think 😉

I guess this is why I relay.

I want “to see an end to the heartache this devastating disease cause”, as Duchess Flux says.

Hugs

FLYER Dream (By Noke Yuitza for Arte Libera)

A woman sleeps embracing her pillow and  her transparent  alter ego embraces her, while another part of her looks at both with lovely eyes. She is good, she feel her complete. It will be the same when she’ll wake up?

Simba Schumann, Arte Libera gallerist, during Dream presentation.

Thirza Ember interviewed yesterday Simba and me in Life is but a Dream about today’s opening of Dream, my new media art installation for Arte Libera in Second Life. Dream comes after Trinity and is the second part of a trilogy of installations versed in the concept of the trinity. Dream talks about the necessity of to love and be loved, of to feel that inner hole, that absence, specially in night-time, as Joaquin Sabina sing in 19 días y 500 noches.

See you there! 😉

“Tears in Rain”, Singularity Tribe electronic music podcast mixed by ALEXI

“Peace, love, unity…”

When Dj Alexi Ayres ask me if I would like to do the cover art for the last Singularity Tribe podcast using my Tears in Rain graphics, I didn’t know how much this immersive electronica session, inspired in cyberpunk culture, fits and follows the evolution of the original story, recreating a cyberlandscape that born and dies at the rhythm of dropping words as “replicant”, “transhumanism”, “technohuman”, “cyber-renaissance”, … words that I’ve try to reflect in this cover art using Bruna Husky’s Memory Fragment 16 “The Beauty” (from Rosa Montero‘s book Tears in Rain, which title is a tribute to Blade Runner film).

Enjoy it!

Tears in Rain in the eyes of Ketk Petrov, “00 years, 00 months and 02 days”

Video

Tears In Rain - I

Tears In Rain – I (Photo credit: Caitlin Tobias)

“Open it. It’s a gift”…

With just this words in a message, Ketk Petrov send me an amazing gift, very emotive, from this machinographer to my Tears Rain cyberart installation. When I opened the youtube link that Kekt send me, I didn’t expect to see a machinima that went straight ahead, like an arrow, to my heart, with a very sensitive musical touch suggestion by DJ, artist and friend Morlita Quan (I love Björk!!).

To the ones that don’t know yet about this project, that started nearly a year ago and now it’s close to its “time to die” day, my Tears in Rain is directly inspired in Rosa Montero’s cyberpunk book Tears in Rain, that is at the same time a tribute to good sci-fi gender and it takes the name from one of the most famous dialogs of cinema history: Rutger Hauer’s final dialog in Blade Ranner.

Mahalo!!! 😉

Machinima: Lagrimas en la lluvia (Tears in Rain) – Rosa Montero – Noke Yuitza

Directed and edited by Ketk Petrov.

Filmed in Tears in Rain (LEA10), during Morlita Quan’s Flying Electronic music performance in “The Beauty” Stage, and Los Falsos (the MKAC), both inside Tears in Rain cyberart installation project in Second Life.

“Rise”, my little installation at Moya Gallery in Second Life

Rise in Moya_004

The wind slips through the broken window licking painfully the wounds of Silvia, who put on her makeup in the mirror while she eats her cry.

Silvia is painting in red the blue in her lips,
in peach the black in her eye,
in flesh his fingers marked in purple in her arm …
while she lies to her reflection,
again,
saying this is the last time,
that he has apologized to her, truly this time,
that she deserves his deformed words and blows,
that without him she would be nothing and that
he, deep in his heart,
loves her.

And so it goes a day,
a week,
a year …
until one day is the cold and dirty water who slips through her mouth and licks her wounds while makeup and embraces her skin in a silent hug that turns off her life.

Rise.

Rise is my CG art installation at Moya Land, the virtual gallery in Second Life of french multimedia artist Patrick Moya (aka Moya Janus). It’s a lite version of the one I did for non-profits project One Billion Rising in its initiative in Second Life, to help in the call to protest against gender violence. Rise talks about a woman that hopes that her beloved and abuser can change, maybe someday because “he, deep in his heart, loves her”… and that hope is what kill her at last.

Visit Rise in Second Life here:

Also, Wizardoz Chrome make a video with some of the captures she took during the Vernissage opening of Moya Land where you can see Rise and many other interesting artworks from Pol Jarvinen, Layachi Ihnen, Nino Vichan, Lemelon rouge Onyett, Comet Morigi, Luciella Lutrova, Glyph Graves, Cayenne Avon, Van Caerndow, ieko Catnap and Fiona Saiman.
